- Number of Critical Illness Claims Paid = 230.
- Value of claims paid = £19 million.
- Average age of claimant = 44 years old.
- Average number of months insurance in force before claim = 31 months.
- Average amount of claims paid = £77,954.
Decline Rate = 9%.
- Decline cases due to not meeting definition = 59%.
- Declined cases due to Non Disclosure = 41%
Below is a graph that shows the average age percentages of each of the claims. Again the critical illness statistics are from between 1st of January 2008 and 31st of December 2008 for Aegon Scottish Equitable.
