Replacing Critical Illness Cover

Posted on February 5th, 2011 in All Posts, Critical Illness Cover, Life Insurance Advice. The last 20 or so years has seen major advances in medical research. What was a life threatening and critical illness 20 years ago can in some instances be treated relatively easily today. For example with some forms a skin cancer you can now have laser treatment to cure the problem. However 20 years ago this could have been a life threatening illness.

Life and Critical Illness Insurance providers have therefore modified their insurance policies to reflect the medical advances. Some of the older policies that are 10 plus years old may include cover for illnesses that are not covered in today’s policies.

If you have an old critical illness policy then chances are that the cover that is available is not right for you anyway. You may have remortgaged, moved home, had more children etc. If any of these things have happened then you may be better to replace the cover with a newer more suitable term length, assured amount or other reason.

However before changing insurers and replacing the critical illness insurance policy it is best to get financial advice first. Enquire on the next page to receive quotes and get help from a qualified financial adviser.
