| If
you are thinking of taking out a Joint
Life cover then read this first. |
| |
Normally with a joint
term insurance policy, should one of you
need to claim for Life or Critical
illness then the policy finishes after
the claim has been made.
However should you both die at the same
time, perhaps in a car crash, then the
policy still only pays out the sum
assured once.
However for a very small amount extra
per month you could instead have 2
single life insurance policies. This
would pay out double the amount of life
cover. This could be useful if you have
dependents buy may be not so appealing
if you don't.
However many critical illness polices
come with children's critical illness
cover as standard for example £15,000. If you had one joint policy then the
policy would just pay out £15,000.
However if you had 2 single life
policies then this would pay out
£30,000.
